“Be like a Tree. Stay grounded. Connect with your roots. Turn over a new leaf. Bend before you break. Enjoy your unique natural beauty.
Keep growing.”
Monica loves to blend her love of gymnastics, yin yoga, and ashtanga yoga in her style. Her history of stretching and strengthening the body shines through her teaching as she uses props to really extend and relax the body as a whole.
“My first introduction to Yoga was a 2 hour Ashtanga Yoga class in 2003 after I retired from a 17 year gymnastic career. I was hooked. 2 months later I was doing my 200hr yoga teacher training in Byron Bay with Yoga Arts where we covered ashtanga, vinyasa flow, Iyengar and pranayama every day for 6 weeks with teachers from all over the world. I have been teaching yoga for 17 years now in Melbourne and now Tasmania after moving here in 2019. My love of yoga and stretching was such a great stepping stone to take, after doing gymnastics. In 2020 I added Yin Yoga teacher training to my list of qualifications. Yoga is such a good thing to have in your life, the time to sit still, to stretch and to push yourself past limitations making you a stronger person mentally and physically. I couldn’t imagine not having yoga in my life I am so thrilled to be helping others on their yoga journey at HoriZEN.”

“Life is about the management of energy, where you place your attention is where you place your Energy! Nobody changes until they change their energy, if you can change your energy you change your Life!”
As Bruce Lee once said “Don’t get set into one form, adapt it and build your own and let it grow and be like water, empty your mind, be formless, shapeless- like water”
In Meditation Matt utilizes many different practices and techniques and likes to focus on relaxation, breathwork, elevated emotions and clear intentions.
“After a 25 year career in the Health and Fitness Industry and a Managing Director of four Companies in Melbourne, I was burning out quicker than the Hindenburg Blimp!! I would say Meditation and I found each other!
After two advanced meditation retreats with Dr Joe Dispenza – a world leader in Meditation and Neuroscience, combined with daily practice over the last 5 years and finally becoming a qualified Mediation Teacher, I would have to say that Meditation has changed me and my life.
Meditation is being mindful of our inner world, going beyond the analytical mind so you can access the subconscious mind.”

The Dalai Lama said “There are only two days in the year that nothing can be done. One is called yesterday and the other is called tomorrow”. Today is the right day to love, believe, do and mostly live!
Tamsyn is in love with all styles of yoga.
She is a strong believer of yoga being for everybody, it is a myth that you have to be flexible to practice! Yoga is your practice and you can only start right where you are. Her classes have a dreamy flow leaving you feeling refreshed, inspired and ready to take on the rest of your day.
I started my yoga practice 14 years ago after I gave birth to my first son and I knew it was the start of an amazing journey. Yoga to me is so much more than physical poses. It is a wonderful world to explore, to absorb and to just BE! Yoga has gifted me the ability to heal, the ability to learn and the ability to love. It is through teaching yoga that I have the opportunity to guide people on a journey that is so much bigger than you could ever imagine.

“We are capable of so much more than we are led to believe”
Heather teaches yoga that has a meditative and spiritual essence to it. Her love of music, chanting and sound shines through her teaching as she holds space for you to be completely present and wrapped in love. Allow yourself to dance with every cell, with the music of every breath, and be connected to the divine.
“Yoga keeps you grounded through hard times, rejoices with you in the good times, and heals you in the sad times.
Yoga I know has always been tapping at my door throughout my life. However it became a ‘way of life’ about 5 years ago when I needed it most. A combination of a stressful job, a new baby and a very sick little boy for a few years, really took its toll on my mind, body and spirit.. Through yoga I was able to finally find quiet in my buzzing mind, be present and start a lifelong journey of self-inquiry, healing and immense gratitude.
I am passionate about inspiring others to find yoga in their lives, as I feel in this day and age it is so important to keep grounded and choose love over fear.
I acknowledge I will always be a student on this yogic path and in life, and I walk the path of my dharma with an open heart.”

“Go confidently in the direction of your dreams! Live the life you have imagined.”
Henry David Thoreau
Since I have retired I have given myself permission to follow my dreams.
Linda’s teaching is as gentle and caring as her nature. She is an example that asana practice (poses) is not limited to the young and flexible but can be embraced at any age with profound benefits. She encourages everyone to let go of any self limiting judgements and expectations and let their inner light shine.
Having worked full time in acute care nursing for most of my life and fitting in netball, aerobics, weights, step and indoor cycle classes between shifts I was keen and very curious to find out what yoga was all about.
I began to intermittently practice Bikram yoga 12 years ago. I loved the asana practice but I still had many questions.
I finally got up the courage to do the 200hr YTT with Yoga Space in 2020. I found out that Yoga is not just an asana practice but a philosophical approach to life.
The wholistic practice of yoga: asanas providing the platform for self enquiry, the moral and ethical teachings and the stillness of mind-body in the meditative practice has awakened in me a sense of calm and purpose that I was missing …. I am now living the life I had only imagined.
My Yoga education has only just begun …….. Yin 50hr TT booked for 2021.
Come join me on the mat ……. awaken YOUR potential.
200hr vinyasa YTT, 50hr yin YTT
Trust in yourself – trust in your body and mind.
Marty loves to move in his vinyasa classes, offering the opportunity for EVERY BODY to move with basic asanas and transitions often offering extensions and further transitions, with opportunity to add your own flavour with or without props. Adding some humour, liking friendly banter and questions during classes, provides a friendly, informative and enjoyable space.
Marty’s yin classes provide an environment for you to consciously relax your body and mind, to be gently guided into your practice, to melt into your own soothing, regenerative and restorative bubble. Leave feeling refreshed, restored, relaxed and ready to face to world!
My journey with movement began in my pre-teen years – inspired and facilitated by my parents – with squash. My love of the local and state circuit came to an end after playing premier grade for over 13 years.
My second ever yoga class had me “floating” out of the studio after class – it was something I’d never had the chance to experience before – being present, giving in totally to experiencing the moment while moving, sweating and consciously breathing – that was mid December 2015. I practiced with increasing vigour over the following year and decided to do my 200hr YTT in 2017. I started leading classes soon after at the largest studio in Hobart. I completed my yin YTT in early 2018 and began leading classes soon after.
I truly believe that yoga has a place in everyone’s life, whether it be just a single element of yoga or multiple – you may even be doing some of these things already!! It has certainly made my mind, body and life better and has introduced me to a spiritual awareness that I’ve never had before. Being able to be mindfully present in a world with so many distractions and so much going is truly a special gift!
200 hr YTT Byron Yoga Centre, iRest Yoga Nidra Level 1
Everything is spiritual.
My practice continues to change along with the seasons of my life. It’s usually grounded in the basics, but I love exploring different styles and techniques. Always learning, always playing, and I’ll keep sharing what I discover.
Is a deep exploration of the self and our connectedness to the world around us. The practice isn’t always easy or comfortable, whether that’s physically, mentally or emotionally, but each time we show up we become a little more attuned to life, we expand our awareness, increase our capacity for love and joy, become stronger, more resilient and flexible, both on and off the mat.
200hr Vinyasa YTT (Yoga Space), 50hr Yin YTT (The Yin Space)
“The need for mystery is greater than the need for an answer”. – Ken Kesey
My teaching style reflects that of my teachers, emphasising a heart-centred and multilayered yogic practice. We focus on creating meditative space by linking breath, movement, and mind. We come back into our bodies, finding alignment that honours our uniqueness. We let go of perfection to embrace the deeper practice of inquiry: having fun, trying things, and seeing what happens. We work to build connection with ourselves and nourish our inner spark.
I discovered the transformative and nourishing power of yoga in my early twenties. It has been my primary guide to the practice of life ever since. Yoga teaches me to live a courageous and open-hearted life, seeking mystery instead of answers. It is a great privilege to hold space for others as they travel their own yogic journeys.
Diploma of Adult and Vocational Education – UTAS, Bachelor of Education – UTAS, Yoga Teacher 200hr Yoga Alliance Certification, Donna Farhi – Moving from Within, Restorative Yoga Teacher Training, Laughter Yoga Leader
Passion, integrity, creativity, connection
Lee began teaching yoga in Thailand in 1996 while living in Asia. Whilst there she was immersed in the cultural practices of varying Eastern traditions. She completed her formal teacher training in Bali and Byron Bay with Yoga Arts in 2004. She has done extensive training with numerous international teachers over many years. Her most influential teacher is Donna Farhi, the teachers’ teacher, and it is through Donna’s work that she has truly embodied the physical practice of yoga – to join, to yoke. Lee also trained with Judith Lasater in Restorative Yoga and is a certified Laughter Yoga leader. She is passionate about functional alignment, tailoring asanas to suit our modern minds and bodies. She invites you into a welcoming, non-competitive, practice. She offers prop support and variations, in the asanas, that suit all capacities and levels of experience. Yoga is powerful medicine but like all medicine must be tailored to suit individuals. Lee wants everyone to experience greater ease, fluidity and strength in their body, a lightness of mind and spirit, while nourishing connections to self, community and the planet. She teaches a vinyasa style of meditation in movement.
Yoga has been a constant in my life for over 25 years. It is both an art and a science. Along the way my understandings of myself, and what yoga is and can do, has changed dramatically. I had my earliest experiences with yoga, meditation and mindfulness in Asia where yoga wasn’t/isn’t something that is necessarily done on a mat. Yoga is a way of being in the world, a way to understand the world and our place in it. The evolution of ‘Yoga’ in the modern western world, as a physical practice alone, is constantly fascinating to me. Yoga is not being flexible, yoga is not about contortions, extreme gymnastics or dramatic postures. Yoga to me is about connections, understanding and wisdom. We are often drawn to the physical practice as a way to get into our own skins and over time the real benefits come in a multitude of life changing ways. Yogic practices provide me with a map that helps me navigate being human. Yoga reminds me to be present, to connect, and to break down the barriers I place between myself and the world, be they physical, mental or emotional. Modern understandings of our bodies and brains coupled with the wisdom of yoga provides us with tools for living richer lives. My practice, needs and understanding, has evolved as I have aged and changed, I wonder what the next 25 years will bring?

“You’re never too old to climb a tree, and never be too busy for a sneaky nude dip in the sea”
Anita’s classes endeavor to encompass every individual for the incredibly unique and wonderful being that they are, with a focus on accessibility through a grounding and gentle approach.
Anita loves to incorporate philosophical teachings of yoga in her classes that might help us reflect and live out our best days. Her salt-of-the-earth personality comes through in her teaching, embracing a mix of authenticity and a little bit of humor, inviting you to let go, and just be true and in the moment.
Movement doesn’t completely come naturally to me- my dad once lovingly said I dance like two chickens in a hessian sack, but when I found yoga- I found my jam! I just love what yoga can do for us physically, spiritually, and mentally. It gives us all the chance to connect our bodies, mind, and breath and helps us on so many different levels in this life’s dance. I love learning, and especially I love learning about yoga! Exploring all facets of yoga is one incredible journey that I’m on, and it seems to be one awesome, never-ending trip!
